Junior Secondary students have taken out two of the three major awards at Dalby SHS's Annual Sports Awards Dinner.
In its fourth year, the Annual Sports Awards Dinner was a sellout with 290 staff, students and parents coming along to Dalby Leagues Club to recognise student sporting endeavours throughout 2015. Special guest Lucy McCullough (2005 Senior & Qld School Touch representative) spoke about how she followed her passion for sport and transformed it into a profession in physiotherapy. Post school, Lucy has continued her involvement in sport and has worked in strength and conditioning; rehabilitation and with the Sporting Wheelies organisation.
Of the night's major award recipients, 2015 Sportsperson of the year was awarded to Sam Rasmussen (7) for making an amazing four Queensland teams.
Russien Nisperos (7) took out the Andrew McCullough "Aim for Excellence" Award for his outstanding commitment to sport and focus on continual improvement.

Daniel Ash (12) was awarded the prestigeous Pierre de Coubertin Award for upholding the Olympic ideals and values.

U15 Team of the Year was shared between the boys All Schools Touch team who reached the Round of 16 and the Darling Downs Schools Cup AFL side who made the semi-finals.
The Open team of the year was awarded to the 'Baggy Maroons' cricket team for making the quarter finals of the Qld State Cup.
Science teacher Ms Michelle Wild was also recognised as the Coach of the Year for her continual work coaching students in Football.
Dalby SHS's Annual Sports Awards could not be possible without the financial support from our sponsors - Dalby Leagues Club; Dalby SHS P&C Association; Warrego Office Choice; Active Physiotherapy; BMO Business Centre; Andersons Flooring; Len Patti Mitsubishi and Henschell Cricket Academy.
Special thanks to the organising committee (Mr Jeff Hart; Ms Bron Henschell; Mrs Rhonda Marshall; Ms Michelle Wild and Mrs Anne Rathmell) for going above and beyond to make the night another successful event.
