Baggy Maroons Win Respect

The Baggy Maroons travelled to the Gold Coast on Thursday to play All Saints Anglican College in the next round of cricket's State Cup.

Dressed to impress, the boys started well in their T20 game, restricting the 'home' side for 120 of their 20 overs. Lachlan Town did most of the damage, getting a few wickets. Will Kropp, the youngest Dalby SHS representative, chimed in well with the ball as did Mark Burt and Captain Scott Burt.

With the target just over six an over, Dalby SHS made a solid start with Scott Burt and Lachlan Town putting on a opening stand of 33. Mark Burt then joined Lachlan at the crease and they took the total to 1/70 off 13 overs. The partnership was broken and All Saints capitalised taking the last 9 wickets for a paltry 9 runs. The visitors ending all out for 79 with Mark Burt top scoring for the Baggy Maroons.

Despite the loss, the young men can hold their heads high, knowing that they won the Toowoomba/Darling Downs division and, in the process of being eliminated, gave All Saints a mighty big fright.

A massive thanks to Mr Miers for all his hard work with the team.
