Blood Sucking Fun

On 26th August, Dalby SHS ‘Aeschylus’ students travelled to Brisbane for their annual cultural experience. The trip aims to immerse students in live theatre and broaden their acting skills through a professional acting workshop.

An early start of 6am set the students up for a 10:00am performance of Dracula at Southbank’s QPAC.

The students found the performance to be engaging as it was performed by well-trained actors from the well-known theatre company Shake & Stir.  The students left the auditorium feeling frightened, yet fulfilled by the gothic theatre style of performance they had experienced. There were no questions left unanswered as the Dalby State High School students asked intelligent questions at the 10 minute Q&A after the production.

Upon leaving the Cremorne Theatre, students were given an hour of individual culinary experience exploration time. In this time, they enjoyed Boost, Max Brenner, Guzman and Gomez, Nitrogenie and Italian delights that made their taste buds tingle.

The students then boarded the bus to Fortitude Valley and took part in an Acting workshop run by Backbone Youth Theatre's veteran actor Chris Beckey. The workshop taught students about abstract thinking and turning emotions into actions.

After a long, exhausting and educational day they safely travelled home, arriving at the school bus interchange at 8pm.
