Singers and musicians are gearing up again for Dalby Choral Festival

10/08/2014
Kyle Roggenkamp (Thiess Community & Stakeholder Relations Manager), Tegan, Mark (Stonestreets) along with Music teachers Helen Gleeson and Katie Commens, and students from Dalby State High School Concert Band

Dalby State High School Vocal Ensemble and Bands, in partnership with other regional state schools and community singers and musicians are busy rehearsing in readiness for the upcoming Dalby Choral Festival proudly sponsored by Thiess and supported by Stonestreets.

The event will be held at Jondaryan Woolshed on Sunday, 17th August.  The day commences at 9:30am with a singing workshop, led by Daniel Crump, a Primary/Secondary School Choral Specialist. Participants will rehearse a song which will be performed with this year’s guests, Queensland Show Choir. This item will be the finale in the choral concert later in the day.

Daniel has a sincere passion for both music education for all and the importance of choral singing in establishing a strong sense of community.

Event coordinator, Helen Gleeson strongly believes that regional students need to be given the opportunity to experience first-class choral performances and direction if they are to make progress in their own choirs.

Thanks to the ongoing support from the corporate sector: Thiess, Stonestreets Coaches and Jondaryan Woolshed, we are in a position to invite professional ensembles such as Queensland Show Choir to the region. The benefits to our students and community are immense.  We would encourage everyone to come along and be a part of what is sure to be a great, family day out.
