School Musical
Each year the school presents to the public a musical production involving students from all grades. Auditions are held early in the year and rehearsals begin during term one. The musical production has an enviable, established reputation in the local community for its excellence.
2021 was the 50 year anniversary of the Dalby SHS annual musical. Every year for half a century (apart from the '81 flood year) we have produced a high quality, Broadway/West End style musical for the community to enjoy. Each year, an eclectic group of enthusiastic staff work with around 100 likeminded students in all aspects of production from lead performers, chorus, backstage, makeup, lighting, sound, costume and orchestra to create as professional a performance as we can.
The experience for many students and staff is a cherished life-long memory and knowing that their talent, team-work and dedication were an essential cog in the big wheel is a source of deserved pride.
In 15 short and frantic weeks from first audition to final performance we aim to give the students and audience the most professional experience we can.
Recent past productions include "The Addams Family", "Mary Poppins", "Grease", "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Mamma Mia!".
Instrumental Music (Co-curricular)
Students from all year levels are invited to be involved in the instrumental music programme. Through the programme students learn to play the concert instrument of their choice and participate in the concert band, stage band and other ensembles. Some school-owned equipment is available on loan to students.
