A proud tradition of Dalby State High School Year 12 students is to participate each year in the Kokoda Challenge on the Gold Coast hinterland to tackle either the 96km or the 48km challenge assisted by a support crew of staff and students.
The Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge is touted as Australia's most difficult endurance event; teams traverse some very challenging terrain through the mountains of the Hinterland as they attempt to reach the finish line.
Teams train for many months in preparation for the challenge whose mission is to change lives through the spirit of Kokoda by mateship, courage, endurance and sacrifice.
Team fundraising also supports the Kokoda Youth Foundation which provides a range of youth programs, events and camps around Australia for young Australians.
